The Occupational Therapy Service (TOTS) is a clinically led national OT consultancy working with local authorities, NHS organisations, housing providers and partners to solve complex service pressures. We combine experienced occupational therapists with project leadership, governance and data to deliver scalable, measurable change. Our work spans adult and children’s services, care-package review, housing and adaptations, concessionary travel, waiting-list recovery, service redesign, training and research. We work alongside existing teams rather than simply adding capacity, leaving stronger pathways and sustainable improvements behind. Talk to us at NCASC about where occupational therapy could unlock capacity, improve outcomes and reduce avoidable cost.
A Strategic Partnership to Support Sustainable Local Authority Services (3.08 MiB)
Invest to save, with a partnership with The Occupational Therapy Service. We provide demand management, optimal handed care reviews, service design and transformation as well as clinical leadership and training. We have demonstrable return on investment and cost saving examples we would be pleased to discuss with you.
Release care capacity. Reduce recurring spend. Improve outcomes. (3.05 MiB)
Could your existing care packages release capacity back into your system? Our OT-led care reviews have delivered £1.43m annual net savings, 60,000 care hours and 525% ROI from 240 reviews, while keeping care proportionate, person-centred and focused on independence.
Get Accessible Housing Right First Time (2.75 MiB)
How much is poor housing specification costing your system? Delays, redesigns and unsuitable adaptations cost money and can prolong dependence on care. TOTS works across housing, occupational therapy and construction to make accessibility clinically informed and right first time, from individual adaptations to policy, design and workforce training.
Blue Badge backlog? Complex cases? Not enough clinical capacity? (4.59 MiB)
TOTS provides a flexible, clinically governed Blue Badge and concessionary travel assessment service. We manage complex referrals, further assessments and hidden-disability cases, giving authorities robust decisions without the long-term cost and difficulty of recruiting additional permanent staff.
