Vesta - Specialist Family Support CIC

Vesta – Specialist Family Support CIC offers specialist support to Polish families in England and Wales affected by domestic abuse, parenting issues and poor mental health.

Vesta has over ten years of experience working with Polish families across the UK. Initially set up in 2014 as part of a charity in Cheshire, the national Polish Domestic Violence Helpline (PDVH) was the first UK-wide helpline specifically for Polish people experiencing domestic abuse. Within the year, national interest grew to the point that we needed to establish ourselves in 2015 as a charitable incorporated organisation, before growing demand led to us, in September 2018, registering as Vesta - Specialist Family Support CIC.

We’re a team of three directors with six accredited bilingual associates who provide qualified, bespoke training and support to Polish people and professionals. We offer remote and one-to-one services to support Polish families when navigating the British social care and justice systems and to cope with domestic abuse, poor mental health and parenting concerns.

Our overall aim is to empower Polish families to create a safe and nurturing family environment, where people can have healthy relationships with each other.

Our services include: - An accredited domestic abuse awareness and recovery programme for women - Gateway - Course for perpetrators of domestic abuse – Towards Change - Counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy - An evidence-based parenting course – The Nurturing Programme - Training for professionals about effective working with Polish families - Resources for professionals and the Polish community

We also apply for funding to offer free services to Polish clients. The funded services are usually available in Cheshire, Greater Manchester and various parts of Wales. More information about funded projects can be found on our website.
